Abstract:
Studies have shown that moro orange juice can be used as a weight loss treatment.
Research demonstrates its effectiveness by acting by stopping substances that have
an effect on the metabolism of adipocytes. Therefore, this research aims to analyze
the interference of Morosil in the weight loss process. This is an integrative literature
review, in which the topic covered refers to the use of plants in the weight loss
process. After reading the articles in full, those that exclusively addressed the
influence of the use of Morosil on the weight loss process were analyzed. This
medication is free from side effects, however, a small number of volunteer patients in
clinical trials reported: constipation, nausea, vomiting and headache. The results
confirmed the role of bioactive compounds present in moro orange extract in
promoting weight control and preventing obesity through the regulation of lipolytic
and lipogenic genes. Clinical trials were carried out in adult humans, however, further
studies are needed and clinical trials regarding the medication. However, it can be
said that supplementation with the standardized extract can significantly contribute as
a complementary strategy in weight control programs. However, there is a need to
carry out more studies on the dry extract to facilitate studies on the topic in a more
comprehensive and easily accessible way, as the importance of a closer look when it
comes to the obesity, along with the causes that lead to this disease.
