Abstract:
This study aimed at observing the legal aspects, psychological impacts and
intervention approaches of parental alienation. To this end, bibliographical research of
articles, books, dissertations and theses on the subject of this research was carried out,
using a qualitative approach. In addition, the observation of theories, concepts,
historical analysis, as well as documentary research, with the analysis and
interpretation of the legislation were adopted. Therefore, relevant challenges were
identified in the practical application of Law No. 12,318/2010, especially in proving acts
of alienation and the difficulties associated with shared custody in high-conflict
scenarios. In addition, the importance of strategies that encourage balanced
coexistence, such as family mediation and public support policies, is highlighted.
