Abstract:
This study aimed to analyze the impact of implementing humanization practices in
nursing care in emergency and urgent care units, verifying their influence on specific
dimensions of care quality and patient experience. To this end, a qualitative literature
review was conducted to understand, based on scientific literature, the impact of
humanization practices. Searches were performed in the SciELO, BVS, LILACS,
BDENF databases and nursing journals, considering publications from 2014 to 2025.
The results showed that care practices based on welcoming, active listening, and
empathetic communication strengthen the bond between professional and patient, promoting humanized and comprehensive care. It was also observed that continuing
education and institutional support are fundamental to consolidating humanization as
a structuring axis of health policies, reducing conflicts, increasing user satisfaction,
and improving care in emergency and urgent care situations. It is concluded that the
humanization of care should be incorporated as a permanent guideline in nursing
services, combining technique, ethics, and sensitivity in promoting safer, more
welcoming, and efficient care.
