Abstract:
The role of clinical pharmacists in hemodialysis clinics has proven essential for
promoting patient safety, optimizing pharmacotherapy, and strengthening
interdisciplinary practices. This study aimed to analyze the perceptions of themultidisciplinary team regarding the importance of including clinical pharmacists in a
hemodialysis clinic located in the Triângulo Mineiro region of Minas Gerais. The
research was quantitative and descriptive in nature, conducted through the application
of a structured questionnaire to 21 health professionals, including physicians, nurses,
nursing technicians, nutritionists, psychologists, and social workers. The results
showed that most participants recognize the importance of the pharmacist's presence
to ensure the rational use of medications, reduce adverse events, and contribute to
patient safety. The responses also showed a positive perception of the integration of
pharmacists into the team, reinforcing the need for institutional policies that ensure
their effective performance in the context of renal replacement therapy. It is concluded
that the inclusion of clinical pharmacists in hemodialysis clinics represents an advance
in the quality of care and the humanization of care, promoting direct benefits to both
patients and the multidisciplinary team.
