Abstract:
This study examines Burnout Syndrome among middle managers and its effects on
mental health and professional performance. A qualitative approach was employed
through a bibliographic review drawing on research indexed in Google Scholar and
SciELO, covering publications from 1974 to 2020. National and international studies
addressing the relationship between leadership practices, organizational demands,
team pressures, and psychological distress were analyzed. The findings indicate that
emotional overload, excessive organizational demands, and an imbalance between
responsibilities and available resources significantly contribute to exhaustion. The
study highlights the relevance of human-centered management and preventive
strategies to foster workplace balance, well-being, and sustainable performance.
