Abstract:
The present study aims to analyze the role of nursing professionals in combating
violence against the elderly in primary health care. Thus, it aims to establish the
correlation between this professional and his social role in coping with the inequalities
and violence suffered by the elderly. In the present study, an integrative literature
review was formulated, which considered the following steps: identification of the
theme and selection of the research question for the preparation of the integrative
review, thus establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria of literature search with
definitions of the information to be extracted from the selected studies. In addition, it
can be concluded that the nursing professional should be increasingly trained to
provide better care in the face of cases of violence against the elderly, and that their
role in identifying and combating this practice is essential.
