Abstract:
The present study aims to address the theme: the impact of covid-19 on women's
prisons, the aspect of sentence progression for pregnant women, with the main
objective of talking about how the confrontation of the coronavirus pandemic was
conducted in women's prisons. the importance of the present study in approaching
such a current issue, with novelties imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, in all
legal segments in our country. In this way, the main difficulties encountered will be
presented, mainly in terms of the non-spreading of the disease during the prison
period. Furthermore, the methodology used in this study was based on the deductive
and qualifying method; bibliographical and exploratory research in articles, books
and legislation, with emphasis on the Penal Execution Law and the current
regulations regarding our national penitentiary system
