Abstract:
In view of the discrimination against women in society, as well as wage inequality
between men and women, research is carried out on the wage inequality between
men and women in Brazil, seeking to highlight the need to change the paradigm from
a patriarchal society to a fairer and more equal society. Therefore, this research aims
to analyze the social and legal aspects of wage inequality between men and women.
As for methodological means, bibliographic research is used, based on bibliographicsources, such as books, theses, reports and printed or digital materials, such as the
Federal Constitution, Law No. 14,611 of 2023, codes, readings and reflections,
literary works and scientific articles that are linked to the central theme of this work. It
is concluded that despite the various advances in legislation involving women's rights,
nationally and internationally, there is still society's resistance to treating men and
women equally in the labor market, which requires measures to be taken by public
authorities. , demonstrating Law No. 14,611 as assertive measures to combat wage
inequality in Brazil.
