Abstract:
This work analyzes the film Valentina (2021- premiere), a drama, with a technical
specification not recommended for children under 14 years of age, accessible on the
Netflix platform. The film demonstrates the difficulties of a trans mother and daughter
who fight for survival in a rural city and for the right to school education. The
methodology used was in accordance with Laurence Bardin's content analysis. The
objective of this research was to analyze questions of identity regarding the teaching
profession in the classroom. Present the concepts and theoretical approaches
relating to identity, social gender, and performativity, according to the authors: Demo,
Cunha, Tiballi, Ghiraldelli, Hall, Nominé, Butler, Wood, Hermann, Gleitman, Freire,
Rabelo, Bourdie, among others. Verify the historical-legislative evolution and public
educational policies relating to gender issues, with the Federal Constitution, Laws,
Decrees, Resolutions and bills presented in this study – which are still for approval.
Analyze the film Valentina regarding issues relevant to the topic under study,
according to the foundations of Bardin, Fresquet, Adorno, Duarte, Champangnatte,
Almeida, Januário, among others. It was observed that there is a need to study this
topic in order to promote the democratization of the educational context.
