Abstract:
The impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on education redefines the dissemination of
knowledge by providing personalization and adaptability to the individual needs of
students, which represents a milestone in academic development. In this context, the
importance of this investigation lies in the need to demystify and elucidate pertinent
issues, ensuring that the transformative potential of AI is fully applied in education.
The central objective of the research was to explore the emerging perspectives of AI
in the educational context with an emphasis on understanding the transformative role
of this technology in the teaching and learning process. The various applications of AI
in education were critically analyzed, identifying their ethical, practical, and
paradigmatic implications. Furthermore, we sought to map the opportunities and
challenges arising from the integration of AI in the contemporary educational
environment. The methodology adopted in this research was qualitative and
descriptive, based on the construction of questions and investigations on the topic.
The bibliographic analysis was conducted by reviewing sources available on
renowned platforms, such as SciELO, Capes Periodical Portal and Open Access
Scientific Repository of Portugal, covering the period from 2009 to 2024. The choice
for a qualitative approach allows for an understanding more in-depth look at the
different perspectives presented by authors and researchers in the field of AI in
education. The critical analysis of these sources was implemented using the content
analysis methodology, seeking to extract meanings and patterns that contribute to a
broad understanding of the topic. The research encompasses a comprehensive
analysis of academic works, exploring the diverse applications, challenges and
opportunities presented by AI in the contemporary educational scenario. Authors from
different backgrounds offer insights into the ethical considerations, practical
implementations, and paradigmatic shifts triggered by the integration of AI in
education. By synthesizing these perspectives, the study is intended to contribute to
a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted impact of AI on education.
